Florence Tour

After a short panoramic tour of its northern part, we will leave Rome, by the "Sun Route" motorway, crossing the regions Lazio and Umbria, to reach our destination: Florence. 
City of Etruscan Roman origins, it flourished in the Middle Ages as a free commune. Furtherly refined by the Renaissance Art and enriched by the Medici rule, Florence is the cradle of Italian language. We will arrive in the heart of the city to visit the Galleria dell'Accademia, where the original David by Michelangelo is kept, together with the Third "Pietà" and the prisoners, also by Michelangelo. We will then proceed to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, with the magnificent dome projected by Brunelleschi, the Baptistry with the golden doors by Ghilberti and Giotto's Belfry. From here we walk to Piazza della Signoria with the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence's Town Hall, the Loggia dei Lanzi with the Perseus by Cellini and the Fauntain of Neptune. After lunch, we will go to Piazza Santa Croce free time at disposal to visit the church of Santa Croce (with the graves of Michelangelo, Galileo, Rossini, Machiavelli) or to go into some typical shops, such as the ancient "School of Leather". At about 17:00 hrs we will continue by coach on the Viale dei Colli to reach Piazzale Michelangelo, where the copy of David stands. From the square you will enjoy the huge view of the city below, with the famous Ponte Vecchio.

N.B.: For those wishing to stay overnight in Florence, the 2nd day is at complete disposal and the departure is scheduled in the afternoon at 16:00 hrs. approximately.
